762 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْمَازِنِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بِحَدِيثِ الصَّرْفِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَجَاءَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ، فَسَأَلَهُ عَنْهُ وَأَنَا حَاضِرٌ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: إِنِّي لَا أَحْفَظُ شَيْئًا فِيهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ نَحْوٌ مِمَّا يُحَدِّثُ النَّاسُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «فِي الذَّهَبِ بِالذَّهَبِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ، الْوَرِقُ بِالْوَرِقِ مِثْلًا بِمِثْلٍ»
Zumrah bin Sa‘id Muzani narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) relating a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the exchange of gold and silver, on the authority of Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) came and asked him about this matter; I was present there at that time. Sufyan says: This is the only thing I remember about this matter; it was a hadith similar to what people have narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "The exchange of gold for gold will be equal, and the exchange of silver for silver will be equal."
