Hadith 744
744 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الْمِنْهَالِ، يَقُولُ: بَاعَ شَرِيكٌ لِيَ بِالْكُوفَةِ دَرَاهِمَ بِدَرَاهِمَ بَيْنَهُمَا فَضْلٌ، فَقُلْتُ: مَا أَرَي هَذَا يَصْلُحُ، فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ بِعْتُهَا فِي السُّوقِ فَمَا عَابَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌ، فَأَتَيْتُ الْبَرَاءَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ، قَالَ: قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَتِجَارَتُنَا هَكَذَا، فَقَالَ: «مَا كَانَ يَدًا بِيَدٍ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ، وَمَا كَانَ نَسِيئَةً فَلَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ» وَأْتِ ابْنَ أَرْقَمَ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ أَعْظَمَ تِجَارَةً مِنِّي، فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: صَدَقَ الْبَرَاءُ، قَالَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ: «هَذَا مَنْسُوخٌ وَلَا يُؤْخَذُ بِهِ»
Abu Minhal narrates: My business partner sold dirhams for dirhams in Kufa with an extra payment, so I said: I do not think this is correct. He replied: I sold them in the market and no one objected to me. So I went to Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked him about this matter. He said: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Madinah, this was our way of trading. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no harm in what is exchanged hand to hand, but there is no good in what is deferred." Go to Sayyiduna Zayd bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him), for his business dealings were greater than mine. I went to him and mentioned this to him, and he said: Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) has spoken the truth.
