Hadith 741
Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he began the prayer, he raised his hands. Sufyan says: My teacher came to Kufa, and I heard him narrate this hadith. In it, he further narrated these words: Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do so again (i.e., he did not raise his hands again). So from this, I guessed that people must have prompted him with these words. Whereas when I saw him in Kufa, compared to the day when he was in Makkah, at that time he remembered the narrations much better. People told me that there had been a change in his memory or that his memory had deteriorated.
