728 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَي، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ، قَالَ: عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: " قُولُوا: اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَي مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَي آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَي آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَي مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَي آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَي آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ "
Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught us the method of sending blessings upon himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You should say this: 'O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and upon the family of Muhammad, just as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and upon the family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah, send blessings and blessings upon Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and upon the family of Muhammad, just as You sent blessings and blessings upon Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and upon the family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.'"
