Musnad al-Humaydi

Amr bin Dinar narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) bought a camel from the partner of Nawwas which was suffering from severe thirst disease. When Nawwas came, he asked his partner: "To whom did you sell it?" So he described the appearance of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both). Nawwas said: "Woe to you, that was Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both)!" Nawwas came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and said: "My partner has sold you a camel which is suffering from severe thirst disease; he did not recognize you." So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: "You may take it back." When I was about to take it back, he said: "Leave it! We are pleased with the decision of Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) that there is no reality to contagion." Sufyan says: Amr bin Dinar has narrated that Nawwas used to sit in the service of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and used to make him laugh. One day he said: "I wish I had gold equal to Mount Abu Qubais." So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) asked: "What would you do with it?" Nawwas replied: "I would die with it." So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) started laughing.
