697 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي ذُؤَيْبٍ الْأَسَدِيَّ، يَقُولُ: خَرَجْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَي الْحِمَي فَلَمَّا غَرَبَتِ الشَّمْسُ هِبْنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ لَهُ: انْزِلْ فَصَلِ، «فَلَمَّا غَابَ الشَّفَقُ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّي الْمَغْرِبَ بِنَا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ، وَصَلَّي الْعِشَاءَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ» ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا، فَقَالَ: «هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ»، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: " وَكَانَ ابْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ كَثِيرًا إِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لَا يَقُولُ فِيهِ: فَلَمَّا غَابَ الشَّفَقُ، يَقُولُ: فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ بَيَاضُ الْأُفُقِ وَفَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّي، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ: غَابَ الشَّفَقُ وَلَكِنِّي أَكْرَهُهُ، فَإِذًا أَقُولُ هَكَذَا لِأَنَّ مُجَاهِدًا حَدَّثَنَا أَنَّ الشَّفَقَ النَّهَارُ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: فَأَنَا أُحَدِّثُ بِهِ هَكَذَا مَرَّةً، وَهَكَذَا مَرَّةً "
Ismail bin Abdur Rahman narrates: We went with Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) towards the pasture. When the sun had set, we feared (that the time for prayer might pass). We said to him: Please dismount and perform the prayer. When the twilight had disappeared, Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) dismounted from his mount and led us in three rak‘ahs of Maghrib prayer. Then he said salam, and then he performed two rak‘ahs of ‘Isha prayer. Then he turned towards us and informed us: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do the same. Sufyan says: The narrator named Ibn Abu Najih, most of the time when he narrated this hadith, did not mention these words: "When the twilight had disappeared." Rather, he used these words: "When the whiteness of the horizon and the darkness of the night had gone, then he dismounted from his mount and performed the prayer." Sufyan says: I spoke to Ibn Abu Najih about this, and he informed me: Ismail has narrated these words: "When the twilight had disappeared." I do not like to narrate these words, because Mujahid has informed us: By twilight is meant the day. Sufyan says: So sometimes I narrate this report in these words, and sometimes in those words.
