Hadith 644
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard a man who asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was present on the pulpit at that time. (The question was) How should a person perform voluntary prayers at night? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Two by two. When you fear that dawn is near, then perform one rak‘ah as witr; it will make all your previous prayers odd." Sufyan says: This narration is better.
