632 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اقْتُلُوا الْحَيَّاتِ، وَذَا الطُّفْيَتَيْنَ، وَالْأَبْتَرَ، فَإِنَّهُمَا يَلْتَمِسَانِ الْبَصَرَ، وَيَسْتَسْقِطَانِ الْحَبَلَ»¤ قَالَ: وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَقْتُلُ كُلَّ حَيَّةٍ وَجَدَهَا، فَأَبْصَرَهُ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ، أَوْ زَيْدُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ يُطَارِدُ حَيَّةً، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّهُ قَدْ نَهَي عَنْ ذَوَاتِ الْبُيُوتِ»¤ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: ” كَانَ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَبَدًا يَقُولُ فِيهِ: زَيْدٌ، أَوْ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ“
Salim narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Kill the snakes that have two lines and those with cut tails, for they cause blindness and miscarriages.” The narrator states: Whenever Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) found a snake, he would kill it. Once, Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him) or Zayd bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saw him while he was searching for a snake, so they said: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) has forbidden killing the snakes that live in houses. Sufyan says: Zuhri always used to say that it was Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him), or perhaps Abu Lubabah (may Allah be pleased with him), who saw him.
