629 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَيْنِ: رَجُلٍ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بَهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ، وَرَجُلٍ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُ مِنْهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ "
Salim narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Envy is permitted only towards two types of people: one is the person whom Allah has granted knowledge of the Qur'an, and he remains engaged with it day and night (i.e., he recites it and teaches it); the other is the person whom Allah has granted wealth, and he spends from it (in the way of Allah) day and night."
