568 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ مُطْعَمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ - إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ - قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَوْ كَانَ مُطْعَمُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ حَيًّا ثُمَّ كَلَّمَنِي فِي هَؤُلَاءِ النَّتْنَي أَوْ فِي هَؤُلَاءِ الْأُسَارَي لَأَطْلَقْتُهُمْ لَهُ - يَعْنِي أُسَارَي بَدْرٍ -» وَكَانَ سُفْيَانُ إِذَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ؟ فَذَكَرَ فِيهِ الْخَبَرَ قَالَ: إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَا يَدَعُهُ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِيهِ الْخَبَرَ فَرُبَّمَا قَالَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ وَرُبَّمَا لَمْ يَقُلْهُ
Muhammad bin Jubair narrates from his father: He narrates the statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "If Mut'im bin 'Adi were alive and then he spoke to me about these captives, I would have released them." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) meant the captives of Badr. (Imam Humaydi, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) When Sufyan narrated a hadith of this nature and also mentioned the words of the hadith, he would definitely say 'InshaAllah'; he would not omit it. But if he did not mention the words of the narration, then sometimes he would say 'InshaAllah' and sometimes he would not say 'InshaAllah'.
