Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates regarding Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with them both): From ‘Arafah to Muzdalifah, Sayyiduna Usamah was seated behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the mount. He narrates: I set out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from ‘Arafah. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached the valley, he dismounted. There he urinated. The narrator did not mention the pouring of water. Then I brought a vessel to him and he performed a brief ablution. I said: O Messenger of Allah! Will you pray? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The prayer will be ahead.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Muzdalifah, where he performed the Maghrib prayer, then the people unloaded their saddles. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the ‘Isha prayer. Sufyan says: Ibrahim bin ‘Uqbah and a narrator named Muhammad have differed in some aspect of this narration; one narrator says: This is transmitted from Sayyiduna Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him) through Kuraib, while the other says: It is transmitted from Sayyiduna Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) through Kuraib from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
