Hadith 505
505 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرٌو قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا سَعَي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ؛ لِيُرِي الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ»
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Tawaf of the House of Allah and Sa’i between Safa and Marwah so that he could demonstrate his strength before the polytheists.
