499 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ عَمْرٌو: «أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ بِالْعِشَاءِ» فَخَرَجَ عُمَرُ فَنَادَي فَقَالَ الصَّلَاةَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَدْ رَقَدَ النِّسَاءُ وَالْوِلْدَانُ وَقَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: أَخَّرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ بِالْعِشَاءِ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ مَاءً وَهُوَ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّهُ لَلْوَقْتُ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا صَلَّيْتُ إِلَّا هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ» قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ فَخَرَجَ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ الْمَاءَ عَنْ شِقَّهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّهُ الْوَقْتُ لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَي أُمَّتِي» وَكَانَ سُفْيَانُ رُبَّمَا حَدَّثَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَأَدْرَجَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ عَمْرٍو وَابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ مَا يَذْكُرُ فِيهِ الْخَبَرَ فَإِذَا قَالَ فِيهِ حَدَّثَنَا وَسَمِعْتُ أَوْ سَمِعْتُ أَوْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَ بِهَذَا عَلَي هَذَا وَهَذَا عَلَي هَذَا
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed performing the ‘Isha prayer. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said: O Messenger of Allah! The time for prayer is passing. The women and children have fallen asleep. Here, the narrator named ‘Amr has reported these words: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) came, drops of water were dripping from his blessed head. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “This is the (proper) time! If I did not fear hardship for the believers, I would have performed this prayer at this time.” The narrator named Ibn Jurayj has reported these words: Once, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the ‘Isha prayer at night. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived, he was wiping water from one side of his body and was saying, “This is the (proper) time! If I did not fear hardship for my Ummah.” The narrator named Sufyan, at times when narrating this hadith, has included that this narration is transmitted from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).
