Salim bin Abu Ja’d narrates: A man came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) and asked him about a person who deliberately kills a believer, then repents, believes, does good deeds, and then attains guidance. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: How can he attain guidance? I heard your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: “On the Day of Resurrection, the murdered person will be brought in such a state that he will be holding his killer, his veins will be flowing with blood, and he will bring him to the Throne and say: O my Lord! Ask him why he killed me?” Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: By Allah! This was revealed by Allah Almighty to His Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and since this verse was revealed, nothing has abrogated it.
