477 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي كُرَيْبٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: بِتُّ لَيْلَةً عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ «فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ شَنٍّ مُعَلَّقٍ وُضُوءًا خَفِيفًا، وَجَعَلَ يَصِفُهُ وَيُقَلِّلُهُ» فَقُمْتُ فَصَنَعْتُ مِثْلَ الَّذِي صَنَعَ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَأَخْلَفَنِي فَجَعَلَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ «فَصَلَّي ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ فَنَامَ حَتَّي نَفَخَ، ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ بِلَالٌ فَآذَنَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَخَرَجَ فَصَلَّي وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ»،
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Once, I stayed overnight at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during the night, performed ablution from a hanging water-skin, which was brief. Then Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) described its manner, saying: It was a little. So I also got up and did as the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had done. Then I came and stood on the left side of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so he took me from behind him and made me stand on his right side. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer, then he lay down and slept until he began to snore. Then Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and called him for prayer, and he went out, performed prayer, and did not perform ablution again.
