Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us two hadiths; I have seen one of them and I am waiting for the other. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Trustworthiness was sent down into the hearts of people, then the Qur'an was revealed, so people acquired knowledge from the Qur'an and they also acquired knowledge from the Sunnah." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), describing the removal of this trustworthiness, said: "A man will sleep, and trustworthiness will be taken away from his heart. Then he will sleep, and trustworthiness will be taken away from his heart, until only a trace remains, like the trace left by a blister." Then Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) picked up some pebbles and placed them on his foot and said: Just as if you put a burning coal on your foot, the place will swell and you will feel the burning, but there will be nothing inside. So people will engage in transactions, but there will not be a single person among them who fulfills trustworthiness, to the extent that it will be said about a person that he is so sharp, so clever, and so intelligent, even though there will not be faith in his heart equal to a mustard seed. I remember about myself that previously I did not care with whom I was doing business, because if he was a Muslim, his Islam would keep him right with me, and if he was a Jew or a Christian, his ruler would keep him right with me, but now I only do business with so-and-so and so-and-so.
