423 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَرْبَعَةٌ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَي آلِ طَلْحَةَ، وَعَبْدُ رَبِّهِ، وَيَحْيَي ابْنَا سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ أَنَّهُمْ سَمِعُوهُ مِنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُهُ عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «الرُّؤْيَا الصَّالِحَةُ مِنَ اللَّهِ، وَالْحُلْمُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِذَا حَلُمَ أَحَدُكُمْ حُلْمًا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلْيَنْفُثْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ، وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا رَأَي فَإِنَّهَا لَنْ تَضُرَّهُ»
Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "True dreams are from Allah Almighty, and disturbing dreams are from Satan. So when a person sees a disturbing dream that he does not like, he should spit three times to his left and seek refuge with Allah Almighty from the evil of the dream he has seen, then that dream will not harm him."
