416 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبَايَةَ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ قَالَ: «أَعْطَي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ بْنَ حَرْبٍ، وَصَفْوَانَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ، وَعُيَيْنَةَ بْنَ حِصْنٍ، وَالْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ مِائَةً مِنَ الْإِبِلِ، وَأَعْطَي عَبَّاسَ بْنَ مِرْدَاسٍ دُونَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ أَوْ غَيْرُهُ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ فَقَالَ عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مِرْدَاسٍ¤ ¤ أَتَجْعَلُ نَهْبِي وَنَهْبَ الْعَبِيدِ ... بَيْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ وَالْأَقْرَعِ ¤ فَمَا كَانَ بَدْرٌ وَلَا حَابِسٌ ... يَفُوقَانِ مِرْدَاسَ فِي الْمَجْمَعِ ¤ وَمَا كُنْتُ دُونَ امْرِئٍ مِنْهُمَا ... وَمَنْ يُخْفَضِ الْيَوْمَ لَا يُرْفَعِ ¤ قَالَ» فَأَتَمَّ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِائَةً " ¤
Sayyiduna Rafi‘ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Hunayn, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave Abu Sufyan bin Harb, Safwan bin Umayyah, ‘Uyaynah bin Hisn, and Aqra‘ bin Habis one hundred camels each. He (peace be upon him) gave ‘Abbas bin Mirdas less than that. After this, the narrator Sufyan—or perhaps the narrator was ‘Amr bin Sa‘id—narrated these words in this narration: On this occasion, ‘Abbas bin Mirdas recited these verses: “Are you giving me and (my horse) ‘Ubayd a lesser share than ‘Uyaynah and Aqra‘, even though during the battle neither of them had any superiority over Mirdas in any respect? I am not of lesser status than either of them, and today, whoever’s status is diminished, then it will not be elevated again.” Sayyiduna Rafi‘ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also gave him a full hundred camels.
