Hadith 409
409 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: كُنَّا نُخَابِرُ وَلَا نَرَي بِذَلِكَ بَأْسًا حَتَّي زَعَمَ رَافِعُ بْنُ خَدِيجٍ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَي عَنْهُ» فَتَرَكْنَا ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَجْلِ قَوْلِهِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We used to lease out land and did not see any harm in it, until Sayyiduna Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) informed us that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had prohibited it, so we abandoned this practice because of his statement.
