Hadith 335
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When I recite this verse: «يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالإِشْرَاقِ» (38-Sad:18) "Glorify [Him] in the evening and in the morning," I inquire as to which prayer is the Ishraq prayer, so this is the Ishraq prayer.
Abdullah bin Harith narrates: I asked about the Duha (forenoon) prayer during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him). At that time, a large number of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) were present, but I could not find anyone who could tell me that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed this prayer, except for Sayyida Umm Hani (may Allah be pleased with her). She said: I saw the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) perform this prayer once on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah. He wrapped a cloth around himself, with its ends in opposite directions, and performed eight rak‘ahs.
