Hadith 284
284 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ قِرَاءَةَ أَبِي مُوسَي فَقَالَ: «لَقَدَ أُوتِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ» وَكَانَ سُفْيَانُ رُبَّمَا شَكَّ فِيهِ فَقَالَ: عَنْ عَمْرَةَ أَوْ عُرْوَةَ لَا يَذْكُرُ فِيهِ الْخَبَرَ ثُمَّ ثَبَتَ عَلَي عُرْوَةَ وَذَكَرَ الْخَبَرَ فِيهِ غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ وَتَرَكَ الشَّكَّ
Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) heard the recitation of Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "He has been given a melodious voice like that of the family of Dawud."
Imam Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: While narrating this report, Sufyan would sometimes be uncertain and would say that it is narrated from a woman named Amrah or perhaps from a person named Urwah, but he would not mention the wording of this narration. Then after that, he mentioned with confidence that it is narrated from Urwah, and then he narrated this report several times and abandoned that uncertainty.
