249 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ: جَلَسَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِلَي جَنْبِ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ وَهِيَ تُصَلِّي فَجَعَلَ يُحَدِّثُ وَيَقُولُ: اسْمَعِي يَا رَبَّةَ الْحُجْرَةِ، فَلَمَّا قَضَتْ صَلَاتَهَا، قَالَتْ لِي: يَا ابْنَ أُخْتِي أَلَا تَعْجَبُ إِلَي هَذَا وَإِلَي حَدِيثِهِ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثًا لَوْ عَدَّهُ الْعَادُّ أَحْصَاهُ» قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ سُفْيَانُ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ
Urwah narrates: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) came and sat near the chamber of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) while she was performing prayer. Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) began to narrate a hadith and started saying: O lady of the chamber! Listen. When Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) completed her prayer, she said to me: O my nephew! Are you not amazed at this person and his manner of narration? Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke, if someone wanted to count (his words), he could count them (meaning the Prophet, peace be upon him, would speak slowly and clearly).
Imam Humaydi says: Sufyan did not hear this narration from Zuhri.
