Hadith 228
228 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهَا تَقُولُ: جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةُ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ إِلَي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ عِنْدَ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ فَطَلَّقَنِي فَبَتَّ طَلَاقِي، فَتَزَوَّجْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ وَإِنَّمَا مَعَهُ مِثْلُ هُدْبَةِ الثَّوْبِ، فَبَسِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ «أَتُرِيدِينَ أَنْ تَرْجِعِي إِلَي رِفَاعَةَ؟ لَا حَتَّي تَذُوقِي عُسَيْلَتَهُ وَيَذُوقَ عُسَيْلَتَكِ» قَالَتْ: وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَخَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ بِالْبَابِ يَنْتَظِرُ أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَهُ، فَنَادَي فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ أَلَا تَسْمَعُ إِلَي مَا تَجْهَرُ بِهِ هَذِهِ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِيلِ لِسُفْيَانَ فَإِنَّ مَالِكًا لَا يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ إِنَّمَا يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ فَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ: لَكِنَّا قَدْ سَمِعْنَاهُ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ كَمَا قَصَصِنَاهُ عَلَيْكُمْ
Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The wife of Rifa’ah al-Qurazi came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: O Messenger of Allah! I was the wife of Rifa’ah al-Qurazi, he divorced me and gave me an irrevocable divorce. I then married Abdur Rahman bin Zubair, but his companionship is like the edge of a garment (i.e., he is impotent). The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) smiled and said: “Do you want to return to Rifa’ah? No (that cannot happen) until he tastes your honey and you taste his honey.” Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: At that time, Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was present with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Khalid bin Sa’id (may Allah be pleased with him) was waiting at the door for permission to enter. He said in a loud voice: O Abu Bakr! Do you not hear what this woman is saying in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in a loud voice? The narrator named Sufyan was told: Imam Malik did not narrate this tradition from Zuhri, he narrated it from Miswar bin Rifa’ah. So Sufyan said: But we have heard this narration from Zuhri, just as we have narrated it before you.
