Alqamah narrates: We set out for Hajj, and some people raised the issue: Can a fasting person kiss (his wife)? One of those present said: Yes! Another person, who had been continuously fasting for two years and spent the nights in prayer, said: I intend to take this bow of mine and strike you with it. (The narrator says) When we reached Madinah, we went to Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). They said: O Abu Shibl! Ask Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). I said: By Allah! I will never say anything bad in front of Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) heard the people talking and asked: What are you discussing? I am your mother. The people said: O Mother of the Believers! Can a fasting person kiss (his wife)? So Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss (his noble wife), and he would have intimacy with her while he was fasting, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the greatest control over his desires.
