Narration on Night Voluntary Prayers and Lying Like a Funeral
Hadith 171
171 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ: ثنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي صَلَاتَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجِنَازَةِ»
Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform voluntary prayers at night, while I would be lying between him and the Qiblah in the widthwise direction, just as a body is placed (for funeral prayer).
