Abdullah bin Unmah Juhani narrates: A man saw Sayyiduna Ammar bin Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) performing a brief prayer. When he completed the prayer, the man said to him: O Abu al-Yaqtan! Today you performed a brief prayer. He asked: Did you see me shorten anything in the bowing or prostration? He replied: No. So Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I wanted to hasten in the prostration of forgetfulness, because I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Sometimes when a man finishes performing the prayer, only a tenth, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a fourth, or a third, or half of it is written for him in his record of deeds."
