Narration on the Night of Meeting Jinn and the Frightening Tree
Hadith 123
123 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي مَسْرُوقٌ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُوكَ، «أَنَّ شَجَرَةً أَنْذَرَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْجِنِّ»
Abu Ubaidah says: Masruq told me: Your father (i.e., Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him) informed me that on the night of meeting with the jinn, a tree tried to frighten the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
