Narration about bald snake as a collar for not giving zakat
Hadith 93
93 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا جَامِعُ بْنُ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ، وَعَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ لَا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ إِلَّا مُثِّلَ لَهُ شُجَاعًا أَقْرَعَ يُطَوَّقُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ﴿ وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ﴾ الْآيَةَ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not pay the zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection his wealth will be turned into a bald snake and it will be made to wear it as a collar." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse from the Book of Allah as its confirmation: "And those who are stingy with what Allah has given them out of His bounty, never think that it is better for them; rather, it is worse for them. That with which they were stingy will be put as a collar around their necks on the Day of Resurrection."
