Abdur Rahman, the son of Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah make happy that servant who hears something from us, preserves it, remembers it, and then conveys it, because sometimes the one who directly receives knowledge is not a scholar, and sometimes the one who directly receives knowledge conveys it to someone who is more knowledgeable than him. There are three things about which a Muslim's heart does not fall into deception (i.e., a Muslim's heart should possess these three qualities): sincerity in action, goodwill towards Muslim rulers, and staying with the congregation of Muslims, because the supplication encompasses those who are behind them as well."
