Hadith 86
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed era of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the moon was split into two parts, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Bear witness, bear witness." Humaydi (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Sufyan narrated this, and Ibn Abu Najih conveyed these two narrations to us from Abu Ma'mar.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered Makkah, there were three hundred and sixty (360) idols placed around the Ka'bah. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began striking them with the stick he held in his blessed hand, and he kept reciting: "Truth has come, and falsehood neither creates anything nor restores it." (He also recited:) "Truth has come, and falsehood has vanished; indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish."
