Aamir bin Sa’d narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas, may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed something, so I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Give something to such-and-such person as well, he is a believer.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “(Is he) a believer or a Muslim?” I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Give something to such-and-such person as well, for he is a believer.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “(Is he) a believer or a Muslim?” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Sometimes I give something to a person even though another is more beloved to me than him, but I give it out of fear that Allah, the Exalted, may throw him face down into the Hellfire.”
