Hadith 64
64 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ بَجَالَةَ يَقُولُ لَمْ يَكُنْ عُمَرُ أَخَذَ الْجِزْيَةَ مِنَ الْمَجُوسِ حَتَّي شَهِدَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَوْفٍ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَهَا مِنْ مَجُوسِ هَجَرٍ»
Bajalah says: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) did not take jizya from the Magians, until Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) testified that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had taken it from the Magians living in the area called "Hajr."
