Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila reports: I heard Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed me to supervise his sacrificial animals (i.e., to have them slaughtered), to distribute the cloths placed on them and their skins, and not to give anything from them to the butcher. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "We will pay him (the butcher) from our own wealth (as compensation)."
