Encouragement to combine Hajj and Umrah in the valley of Aqiq
Hadith 19
19 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ، ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالاَ: ثنا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ قَالَ: ثني يَحْيَي بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ثني عِكْرِمَةُ مَوْلَي ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ وَهُوَ بِوَادِي الْعَقِيقِ: " أَتَانِي اللَّيْلَةَ آتٍ مِنْ رَبِّي، فَقَالَ: صَلِّ فِي هَذَا الْوَادِي الْمُبَارَكِ وَقُلْ عُمْرَةٌ فِي حِجَّةٍ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saying, he said: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, at that time he was in the valley of ‘Aqiq: “Last night, a messenger from my Lord came to me and said: Perform prayer in this blessed valley and say: ‘Umrah is included in Hajj’ (that is, recite the talbiyah for ‘Umrah along with Hajj).”
