998 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا أَيُّوبُ السِّحْتِيَانِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، مِثْلَهُ، رَفَعَهُ مَرَّةً إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «أُولَاهُنَّ، أَوْ أَحَدُهُنَّ بِالتُّرَابِ»
This narration is also transmitted with another chain. However, in it are the words: "The first time among them, or one of the times among them, should be washed with soil."

As mentioned earlier: 996, in this hadith there is «اولاهن» or «احدهن », and in some versions there are the words «اخراهن », meaning whether the washing with earth (soil) should be done the first time or the last time—there is a difference of opinion regarding this, but the hadith scholars have given preference to performing it the first time.
