961 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْأَوْدِيُّ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ خَنْبَشٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «عُمْرَةٌ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ كَحِجَّةٍ»
Sayyiduna Ibn Khunbash (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Performing ‘Umrah in the month of Ramadan is like Hajj."

Benefits and Issues:
➊ In the month of Ramadan, the reward for every deed increases. In the same way, the reward for performing umrah also increases and becomes equal to that of hajj.
➋ If one gets the opportunity in the month of Ramadan, one should definitely perform umrah.
➌ This umrah is equal to hajj in terms of reward. However, it is not a substitute for the obligatory hajj. The person upon whom hajj is obligatory must perform hajj itself; the obligation of hajj is not fulfilled by performing umrah in Ramadan.
