Abu Hazim narrates: There was a disagreement among the people regarding how the treatment of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was carried out on the day of the Battle of Uhud when he was wounded. The people asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) about this. He was the last remaining Companion of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in Madinah Munawwarah. So Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Now there is no one left who has more knowledge about this than me. Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) washed the blood from the blessed face of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) brought water in his shield, then a mat was taken and it was burnt, and it was applied to the wound of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
