Abu Hazim narrates: People asked Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him): What was the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) pulpit made of? He replied: Now there is no one left among the people who knows more about it than I do. It was made from the wood of the surrounding forests, which was made by a certain person who was the slave of a certain woman. I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascend the pulpit, then he faced the Qiblah, then he said the Takbir, then he recited (the Qur’an), then he bowed (in Ruku’), then he descended backwards. Then he prostrated (in Sujud), then he ascended the pulpit again, then he recited, then he bowed, then he descended backwards, then he prostrated.
