Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man tried to look inside one of the blessed rooms of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). At that time, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was scratching his head with a comb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If I had known that you were looking like this, I would have poked this into your eyes. The command to seek permission has been prescribed for this reason, so that (one may not) look upon the household.”
