938 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَيْدِ الْمِعْرَاضِ، قَالَ: «لَا تَأْكُلْ إِلَّا مَا ذَكَّيْتَ»
Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim Ta’i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about hunting with a stick, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do not eat it; eat only that which you have slaughtered.”
