Saeed bin Jubair narrates: A close relative of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) threw a pebble at an animal in his presence. Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade him from doing so and stated: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade this. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This (pebble) does not hunt, nor does it kill the enemy; it only puts out the eye and breaks the tooth." That person repeated the act and threw a pebble again, so Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mughaffal (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him: I have narrated to you a hadith from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that he forbade this, and yet you have done it again. I will never speak to you again.
