Hadith 892
892 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ جَدِّ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ: أَبْصَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا أُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ يَا قَيْسُ؟» ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ فَهُمَا هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ، «فَسَكَتْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ» قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَكَانَ عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، يَرْوِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ
Sayyiduna Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me performing two rak‘ahs after the morning prayer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: “O Qais! What are these two rak‘ahs?” I replied: O Messenger of Allah! I was not able to perform the two rak‘ahs (Sunnah) of Fajr, so these are those two rak‘ahs. The Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. Sufyan says: Ata bin Abi Rabah narrates this hadith from Sa‘d bin Sa‘id.
