Abdur Rahman, the son of Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah make happy that servant who hears something from us, preserves it, remembers it, and then conveys it, because sometimes the one who directly receives knowledge is not a scholar, and sometimes the one who directly receives knowledge conveys it to someone who is more knowledgeable than him. There are three things about which a Muslim's heart does not fall into deception (i.e., a Muslim's heart should possess these three qualities): sincerity in action, goodwill towards Muslim rulers, and staying with the congregation of Muslims, because the supplication encompasses those who are behind them as well."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Muhammad Ibrahim bin Basheer
Benefit: In this hadith, there is glad tidings for the person who heard the ahadith, memorized them, and then conveyed them to others. The one who learns the sciences of hadith and fulfills the duty of propagation is extremely blessed and full of goodness, but this is only when his intention is correct and he completely avoids innovations, superstitions, and weak or fabricated ahadith.
There are many levels of knowledge; not everyone possesses the same amount of knowledge. The one with little knowledge should not think, “I have little knowledge, so why should I propagate?” Rather, sometimes the teacher has less knowledge and his student surpasses him. This is why the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: «بلغوا عني ولو آية», if someone has knowledge of even a single verse, he should convey that as well.
By “fiqh” is meant the Qur’an and hadith. All of the noble Companions radi Allahu anhum ajma‘in were jurists (fuqaha); their jurisprudence consisted solely of the Qur’an and hadith, and therein lies salvation. It is unfortunate that some people have come to regard the statements of their imams as jurisprudence, even if they are contrary to the Qur’an and hadith. Remember that every statement that is contrary to the Qur’an and hadith is rejected. Al-Ramahurmuzi rahimahullah has discussed this hadith in detail in his book “Al-Muhaddith al-Fasil.” Whoever seeks more detail should refer to it.
It is also proven from this that the heart should be kept pure and clean from malice and envy. Especially, pure action (by this is meant the action that is in accordance with the Qur’an and hadith and is done solely for the pleasure of Allah Ta‘ala), and well-wishing for Muslim rulers (by this is meant guiding them according to the Qur’an and hadith so that they remain on the right path) should be maintained.
This hadith establishes the great virtue of the Ahl al-Hadith, because their entire life is connected to hadith. Sometimes they are reading hadith, sometimes teaching it, sometimes memorizing it orally, and sometimes narrating it. This virtue cannot be attained by those whose entire focus is jurisprudence (fiqh), logic, and the like.
