Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Three men gathered near the Ka'bah; two of them were from the Quraysh and one was from the Thaqif tribe, or two were from the Thaqif tribe and one was from the Quraysh. Their minds had little sense and their bellies had much fat. One of them said: What is your opinion about Allah? Does He hear what we say? The second said: If we speak loudly, then He will hear; if we speak in a low voice, then He will not hear. The third said: If He can hear our loud voice, then He can also hear our low voice. The narrator says: So Allah the Exalted revealed this verse: "And whatever you conceal, your hearing and your sight will bear witness against you." The narrator named Sufyan used to say at first that this narration was transmitted by Mansur or Ibn Abu Najih or Humaid, or by one of them or by two of them, but then he began to say with confidence that this narration is transmitted from Mansur.

Explanation & Benefits

Benefit:
From this hadith it is established that Allah Ta’ala hears every kind of speech, whether it is secret or spoken aloud. In fact, Allah Tabaraka wa Ta’ala even knows the secrets of hearts and is fully aware of the movements and activities of the entire universe. The statement of Allah, the Exalted, is: «ان الله عليم بذات الصدور». It is also established that on the Day of Resurrection, a person’s own body will bear witness. Subhan Allah.
