Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Zuhr prayer. When he finished the prayer, he inquired: "Did any of you recite Surah Al-A'la?" One person replied: "Yes, I did." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I had realized that one of you was competing with me."

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was given seven repeated long surahs, while Moses was given six, When he threw the tablets, two of them were withdrawn and four remained.
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
1459. Commentary: The seven oft-repeated verses are those of Al-Fatihah. Although they are brief in terms of wording, in terms of meaning they are very extensive.

´It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) was given seven oft-recited; the seven long ones."
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
916. Commentary:
➊ One interpretation of "Sab‘ al-Mathani" is that it refers to the first seven long surahs of the Qur’an, namely: 1. Al-Baqarah, 2. Aal ‘Imran, 3. An-Nisa’, 4. Al-Ma’idah, 5. Al-An‘am, 6. Al-A‘raf, 7. Yunus. And according to one narration, Surah Al-Kahf is included.
➋ The researcher of the book has declared its chain of narration weak, but ‘Allamah Al-Albani rahimahullah has graded it authentic, and Hafiz Ibn Hajar rahimahullah has considered its chain strong. For details, see: [صحیح سنن أبي داود (مفصل) للألباني : 5؍200 ، وفتح الباري : 8؍485 ، تحت حدیث : 4703]
