Hadith 833
833 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: لَا أَدْرِي زِيدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ أَمْ لَا، قَالَ: سَبَّ رَجُلٌ دِيكًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَسُبُّوا الدِّيكَ، فَإِنَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَي الصَّلَاةِ»
Ubaydullah bin Abdullah narrates: (Here, the narrator named Sufyan says: I do not know whether he narrated this from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) or from someone else) He narrates: A man spoke ill of a rooster in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Do not speak ill of the rooster, for it calls to prayer."
