Hadith 832
832 - حَدَّثَنَا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ قَالَ: ثنا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ: ثنا صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ، قَالَ: مُطِرَ النَّاسُ عَلَي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلًا، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحُوا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " أَلَمْ تَسْمَعُوا مَا قَالَ رَبُّكُمُ اللَّيْلَةَ؟ قَالَ: مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَي عِبَادِي مَنْ نِعْمَةٍ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرِينَ، يَقُولُونَ: مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَأَمَّا مَنْ آمَنَ بِي وَحَمِدَنِي عَلَي سُقْيَايَ فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِي، وَكَفَرَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ، وَأَمَّا مَنْ قَالَ: مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَذَلِكَ الَّذِي آمَنَ بِالْكَوْكَبِ، وَكَفَرَ بِي أَوْ كَفَرَ نِعْمَتِي ". قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَكَانَ مَعْمَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَوَّلًا عَنْ صَالِحٍ، ثُمَّ سَمِعْنَاهُ مِنْ صَالِحٍ "
Sayyiduna Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: During the blessed time of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, it once rained at night. The next morning, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do you know what your Lord said last night? He said: 'Whenever I bestow a blessing upon My servants, some among them become disbelievers, and they say: Rain has come to us because of such-and-such star.' But the one who believes in Me praises Me for My watering, so he is the one who believes in Me and rejects the stars. But the one who says: Rain has come to us because of such-and-such star, he believes in the stars and rejects Me (the narrator is unsure, perhaps the words are) rejects My blessing.'" Sufyan says: Mu'ammar narrated this to us earlier from Salih, then we heard this narration from Salih himself.
