Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had made a vow in the days of ignorance to perform i'tikaf for one night in Masjid al-Haram. He asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about this, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed him to perform i'tikaf and fulfill his vow.
