Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) found Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) during a journey, and he was saying: "By my father! By my father!" So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Beware! Allah Almighty has forbidden you from swearing by your forefathers. Whoever has to swear an oath, let him swear by the name of Allah or remain silent."
