Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling or gifting wala’. (It was said to the narrator:) Shu’bah made Abdullah swear an oath about this, so he said: We do not make them swear oaths; we have heard this narration from them many times. Then Sufyan laughed.
